Another College Joins the Trend: University of Mary Institutes Single-Sex Dorm Policy

Good news:

The University of Mary (Mary) in Bismarck, N.D., recently completed the transformation of student housing on campus and, starting this semester, now only offers single-sex residence halls. Single-sex housing serves as a “visible sign” that students “associate with Catholic identity,” explained Dr. Timothy Seaworth, vice president for student development, in an interview with The Cardinal Newman Society. Mary is recommended in The Newman Guide for its strong Catholic identity. The Cardinal Newman Society released the 2015 edition of the Guide this week along with an innovative new “Recruit Me” program that lets students sign up so the recommended Catholic colleges can compete for them.
