Fr. Sheridan: Pastoral Care, Evangelization Essential to Catholic Campus Life

We must strive to renew Catholic education.

In a new study published by The Cardinal Newman Society, the president of Franciscan University of Steubenville proposes that two things—pastoral care and evangelization—are “essential to the delivery of services traditionally encompassed under the umbrella of student life issues.” The article, “Living the Joy of the Gospel in Student Life” by Father Sean Sheridan, TOR, is part of the Newman Society’s policy series on Catholic higher education. The article is adapted from a talk given by Fr. Sheridan to Catholic college officials at the Newman Society’s student life symposium, “Striving for Excellence as Student Life Leaders,” held in May at Franciscan University.
