Teacher Tells 6 y/o: "Jesus Not Allowed in School"

Duh. Everyone knows that.

A Southern California school district is under fire for preventing a first grader from handing out to his classmates candy canes with religious messages, a lawyer for the student said. After conferring with the principal at Merced Elementary School in West Covina on Dec. 13, a teacher told the student, 6-year-old Isaiah Martinez, “Jesus is not allowed in school.”

The child is a minor. The teacher needed to get permission from the mother or father, the real guardians who keep their child's civil rights in trust for him until he is emancipated.

Phony, Hallmark-y (sorry, Hallmark) messages purporting to make a connection between candy and Jesus are heresy. I don't want parents using their child to promote heresy to my child.
