Good News. DOJ 'Abandons' Suit Against Louisiana School Voucher Program

A win for Bobby Jindal. A win for Catholics. A win for kids.

The Obama administration's Justice Department has dropped a lawsuit aiming to stop a school voucher program in the state of Louisiana. I know I will probably sounds crazy, but I am distrustful of school vouchers. I think it sets up a quid pro quo down the line in which a state could say to a religious school, "You get tax dollars in the form of vouchers, we now have a say in your curriculum."

I was thinking along the same lines as Amy, above. We should be able to deduct part of private school tuition and home school materials from our taxes. That way the money really does stay with the child, instead of the government attaching itself to private schools. Unfortunately, so many take funds for school lunch programs I fear they won't be able to avoid interference for much longer.

I agree. We can't trust the government at all.
But I still think any break for kids is a good one right now. The government is coming for religious freedom anyway. No matter what.

Tell the government that they do not own persons because of citizenship, nor do they own a person's soul. Indoctrination of uninformed minor children without their parents' approval and consent is kidnapping by the state. "IN LOCO PARENTIS" means the teachers can only teach what the parents authorize the teachers to teach in public and in private school. Stand up for your money. and IN GOD WE TRUST.
