The fact he turned down so many good Catholics who clearly were fighting for the job, yet decided against picking one of the many faithful who sought the position, and ended up picking a non Catholic just goes to show you he shouldn't be bishop.
Because we all know that our parishes are run by faithful Catholics stampeding the door down to help with liturgies, faith formation, devotions, etc. and not at all sitting back passively waiting for others to do it for them.

So my only question is why are all these parishes turning down so many devoted Catholics and letting the liberal or cafeteria Catholics run things...it just doesn't make sense to me....nor do spoons.

Who appointed this bishop, Wojtyla or Ratzinger?

Catholic Charities in our Archdiocese suffers from the same ailment. The HR Director as well as several other senior positions are occupied by non-Catholics.
