The architects of the new LA cathedral are happy, now that they've got "built a cathedral" on their resume. Cardinal Mahoney is happy, for now he has his monument, the perfect setting for the cutting-edge-of-the-1980's liturgy he was so fond of. All the people that matter are happy. The pewmeat stuck with the $190 million tab for a church they believe to be hideous-- they're not too happy. But since when has the Archdiocese of LA cared what mere pewmeat think?
