G'Town Prof: Sebelius an Inspiration to Students

Oh my! Georgetown doubling down.

A former dean of the Georgetown University institute that will host Health and Human Services Secretary Kathleen Sebelius as a graduation day speaker on May 18 calls the “pro-choice” Cabinet member “an inspiration for our students” at the Jesuit university. “She will be an excellent speaker,” Judy Feder, the former dean who is now a professor at the Georgetown Public Policy Institute (GPPI), told The Cardinal Newman Society. ”We’ve been fortunate to have Cabinet secretaries before. Secretary Sebelius is a great inspiration to our students.”

What is it with universities? It seems that "Cabinet Secretary" is all that matters -- what the person DOES as Cabinet Secretary? Not so much.

If Secretary Sebelius is indeed an inspiration to
Georgetown's students, then the university has
not been doing its job.

Did they see her recent performance before Congress? I can't imagine anything less awe-inducing than listening to Ms. Sebelius speak about anything, even if it wasn't an affront to the bishops. Inspiring? I'm kind of doubting it. Unless your goal is to sound stupid and uneducated in front of lots and lots of people--then, maybe, I guess.
