Bishops Undermined By Jesuit Universities

Catholic academics for suicide? Crisis Magazine has the story:

Even as the nation’s bishops react with alarm to a recent Montana Supreme Court ruling allowing physician-assisted suicide, their efforts are being undermined by ethics and law professors at several Jesuit universities.

Last week, the U.S. Conference of Catholic Bishops approved a statement describing assisted suicide as “a terrible tragedy, one that a compassionate society should work to prevent”:

Assisted suicide is one unfortunate individual and one murderer. When murder is permitted and legalized(it cannot be legalized or codified because it is against the will of the people for the common good) it turns the human being to a demon with no recognition of a human soul or sovereign personhood. The sovereign personhood of the human soul constitutes our nation, our government. Talking about biting the hand that feeds you. The government is taking the life of their constituent. Assisted suicide destroys our founding principles of LIFE, LIBERTY AND THE PURSUIT OF HAPPINESS, making the assisted suicide an alien, non-citizen. His accomplice is a murderer. Outlaws forfeit their citizenship in America. And idiots forment these concepts out of pure selfishness, not ignorance, but pure selfishness, more for me. Yeah, death always brings more...
