Sheryl Crow: Tea Partiers Uneducated

Sheryl "One Square" Crow says Tea Partiers are uneducated and too stupid to understand what's really going on. Newsbusters has the story:

Pop-star and courageous anti-toilet-paper crusader Sheryl Crow apparently has a new political concern: Tea Partiers.

The country crooner told CBS journalist Katie Couric that Tea Party members are uneducated, angry and potentially dangerous in an interview with Glamour magazine this June.

Glamour Magazine and Sheryl Crow... what an odd juxtaposition. Almost as odd as linking the word journalist with Katie Couic.

Several years ago a casino owner in Nevada kicked Linda Ronstadt out after she spent a portion of her concert berating George Bush and the War in Iraq. Apparently, many concert-goers demanded their money back. The thought crossed my mind that I would not want to pay to see Dick Cheney give a lecture on state-craft and then have to endure a portion of the talk while he sang (very amateurishly) his favorite songs for the audience. Then I wondered if maybe Linda Ronstadt did have some education in political science--looked it up--high school diploma.

Sheryl Crow has a BA in Music Composition, Performance and Education from the University of Missouri. I'm sure that's nothing to sneeze at, but is it such a lofty height in education, to be able to deem all Teaparty advocates as uneducated?

Ms. Crow has no earthly idea of what a good education is. Education does not come from sitting in classrooms or online, listening to lectures, and taking and maybe passing all the tests, earning yourself a piece of paper with your name in calligraphy that tells the world that you endured the length of time required to achieve that goal.
She also has no idea what true patriotism is.
My grandfather, like many others in his generation, we educated to the eighth grade level when he had to quit to take care of his family. He was self-educated beyond the eighth grade.
He later became the Mayor of his small town, not because of a diploma (because he had none), but because he was just a good businessman. He had common sense. He knew that he did not know what he didn't know.
Ms. Crow, on the other hand, is much worse educated than he, and assumes to be well-educated because she and her elitist crowd of hangers-on think they know a lot. They have no idea about what the tea-partiers' educational experience is.
My personal educational experience is two university degrees in music; music education and music performance. I also earned a third, doctorate degree so that I could switch careers to practice in healthcare.
I learned enough through all that to know that I don't know very much at all.
I am a proud tea-partier.
Ms. Crow, self-cannibalize, eat crow.
