Kevin Jennings or the Catholic Priest?

Hmmm. Which story is more newsworthy? Newsbusters has the answer.

Consider the following two stories. Pay attention. There will be a quiz.

1. The Obama administration has appointed Kevin Jennings as a "czar" inside the Department of Education. In addition to being the founder of a group called the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network (GLSEN), Jennings once wrote a foreword to a book called Queering Elementary Education. In that foreword, he wrote, "We must address antigay bigotry ... as soon as students start going to school." In addition, Jennings has admitted that, 21 years ago as a 24-year-old teacher at Concord Academy, he advised a gay student sophomore*, "I hope you knew to use a condom," after the student confided he went home with a guy he had met the night before in a Boston restroom. Jennings has since admitted, "I can see how I should have handled the situation differently." Other controversial episodes have been attributed to Jennings.

Let's see, yet another story about a bunch of republicans seeking the ouster of a gay guy who's only crime is being an advocate of gay rights.
Or another story of how the Catholic Church routinely covers up sexual transgressions with money and confidentiality agreements and absolutely no punishment of the transgressor.
While both storylines appear to be banal on the surface, I figure the added twist of cancer drama made the story about the Catholic Church front-page material.

Craig,
Are you ignorant of what Jennings did (as detailed in the story) or are you just lying?

Arthur,

Are you unaware of what "Brewster" has said about what happened?

Just like a "bunch of republicans" (sic) to get upset about policy advisor to the President Jennings' cozy associations with NAMBLA and its promoters. Can't we leave those man-boy sexual advocates in peace where they can exercise their "rights'? Especially when there's a handy isolated priest around to bash instead, and take the heat off our gay, I mean, guy. Good thing that we have George Soros around to fund another socialist propaganda outlet like Media Matters.

Oh yes, Jennings, a gay rights activist, praised Harry Hay in a speech for being a pioneer of the gay civil rights movement.
But wait! Harry Hay, along with being a gay rights pioneer, also supported NAMBLA's right to march in a gay pride parade!
Neither Hay nor Jennings was or is a member of NAMBLA. Nor did Jennings mention NAMBLA in this supposedly damning speech. But because Jennings praised Hay who wanted to allow NAMBLA to march in a parade, Jennings must be a supporter of NAMBLA!

It's amazing that the NYT printed anything at all about this Jennings nonsense.

And what is Jennings going to do for the Obama Administration and supposedly our country, some technical oversight, or fiscal coordination/ Oh wait...he's the safe schools czar! How ironic to put a man with such cozy connections to Hays and NAMBLA/GLSEN right up there with influencing our young children. How ironic, stupid, sick, and morally depraved, yet apparently progressive.

No, JH, it is not ironic that Jennings has been appointed "Safe School Czar" since part of his job is to provide a safe learning environment free of bigotry, hatred and fear. He knows first-hand what that's like.

Ah yes, Media Matters, MoveOn.org, Peter Lewis, David Brock, George Soros, Center for American Progress, John Podesta, New Democratic Network, Catholics in Alliance for the Common Good, Catholics United, Society Institute, Dennis Yedwab, etc., etc, etc.,...a real tolerant and loving bunch.

tuleesh,

They are way, waaaaay more tolerant and loving than Newsbusters, FreedomWorks, Rich DeVos, Glenn Reynolds, Richard Mellon Scaife, American Enterprise Institute, John Bolton, Heritage Foundation, Catholics United for the Faith, Catholic League and Frank Luntz.

"He knows first-hand what that's [bigotry] like."

Of course he does because he and his peers are totally bigoted against the sanctity of marriage between men and women, 5,000 years of Judeo-Christian moral teaching, and almost all human moral traditions in cultures and religions world-wide.

But then the man who appointed him is not known either for his support of much that is fundamental to orthodox Christianity, Judaism, Buddhism, Hinduism, or, ironically, Islam itself.

This is really what the persecution of Jennings is all about, of course.

Are you a "birther" also, or do you just believe Barry HUSSEIN Osama bin Laden is just a closet muslim put in power to allow sharia law to take over the US?
