Horror: Nun As Abortion Escort

This one makes me speechless. A true horror from LifeSiteNews:

A Dominican nun has been seen frequenting an abortion facility in Illinois recently - but not, as one might expect, to pray for an end to abortion or to counsel women seeking abortions, but to volunteer as a clinic escort.

Local pro-life activists say that they recognized the escort at the ACU Health Center as Sr. Donna Quinn, a nun outspokenly in favor of legalized abortion, after seeing her photo in a Chicago Tribune article.

"I've called her sister several times, and she never responded," local pro-lifer John Bray told LifeSiteNews.com (LSN). "But it's her."

Amy Keane, a pro-life witness for 11 years, says Quinn has acted as escort for "six years, at least." Keane described one incident in which Quinn began shouting at the pro-lifers as they spoke to a woman about to enter the abortion facility.

And they wonder why there is going to be a Vatican visitation of women's religious houses... Clearly long overdue!

I have no idea why the Donna Quinns, et al--and there are many now mostly elderly or soon getting there--wound as nuns and not in trees, or running along utility wires, or cutely begging peanuts from folks on park benches.

She's part of a once much larger, now moribund movement that came into the Church soon as breath of the "spirit" but not the substance of Vatican II. Prayers and hopes are in order for their souls. And for the lives that they damaged or in the case of their abortion advocacy--helped to snuff out.

She's a Sinasawa Dominican-- they're a pretty nutty bunch.

Also, they're a good example of what happens from when an order goes from a pretty focused charism (teaching, nursing, working with the poorest of the poor, etc.) to a "Wear whatever, do whatever, live whereever" model...... They've lost their center, and so they're totally lost.

It's really, really sad. :( I mean, what happened to these women to transform them from idealistic young postulants into the crabby cranks they are today?
