Fr. McBrien Against Adoration

Wow. That's all I can say to this. Fr. Richard McBrien is against Eucharistic Adoration. Wow.

From Fr. Richard McBrien:

Notwithstanding Pope Benedict XVI’s personal endorsement of eucharistic adoration and the sporadic restoration of the practice in the archdiocese of Boston and elsewhere, it is difficult to speak favorably about the devotion today.

Now that most Catholics are literate and even well-educated, the Mass is in the language of the people (i.e, the vernacular), and its rituals are relatively easy to understand and follow, there is little or no need for extraneous eucharistic devotions. So Benedict XVI, the successor of Peter, a man with an IQ that probably laps most of us three times, is probably one of the greatest theological minds in the world, let alone the Church; is wrong about adoring the "source, center, and summit" of our faith and Fr, McBrien is right! Lord, give me the grace to endure and him a conversion of mind and heart. Can we get him and Fr. Corapi in the same room?

That’s a very good suggestion Anonymous! I would also recommend Fr. McBrien bring a change of under pants also.

Clearly, Fr. McBrien is sorely in need of our prayers and the graces available in Eucharistic Adoration.

The fact that he teaches at Notre Dame should make his commentary entirely predictable.

I can't read NCR anymore, most of the articles strain orthodox credulity.

I think several changes of underoos might be needed.

I have nothing personally against Rev. McBrien. He's a fine progressive Episcopalian. It's a shame though that he has no faith in Christ nor in His Church.

After countless expressions of his true colors, as a undercover saboteour at the service of the evil one, we are not surprised, but outraged by the indolence of those responsable for keeping the scandal going for so many years at Notre Shame U.
