Brian Williams Bow to Obama?

I don't know what to make of this. Why the heck would an NBC anchor bow to the President. My initial thought was 'no way.' I'm going to go search for an interview where someone bowed to George W. Bush...This might take a while. Check out the vid at Hot Air:

When I first saw it, I thought, “Nah. Brian Williams must have looked down. Americans don’t bow to their political leaders, and especially not the American media.” Wrong!

I wouldn't make too much of this one. I bow like that all the time to people to say hello or goodbye when shaking someone's hand, etc., or if they're talking and I don't want to interrupt. It's a gesture of civility, not inferiority or worship.

It was a head nod. Do it all the time, use it so say hi to people all the time from across a parking lot or even in person. Or my favorite while driving to another driver.

I really dont think it was a big deal. Ask any commited progressivist catholic, a worshipful bow is at the waist, but dont you dare kneel we more mature then that. ;-)

Yeah, no biggie. I often bow when I shake people's hands as well, or if a handshake would be too difficult due to range.
