The Anchoress Sees Ghosts of Hate

I've been pleasantly surprised by much of the conservative blogosphere these past two days. They're not ridiculing Barack Obama. (There are exceptions, I know) I've seen a lot of folks looking to pick up the pieces of conservatism and others who are simply praying that the Democrats won't do the things they've promised to do. The Anchoress says all this better than me though so go read her.

I would love nothing better than to be able to stop writing about “left” and “right.” I wish we had a better vocabulary to describe our distinctions, because these words are limiting and off-putting. I am determined, with the merciful conclusion of this abusively long election season, to work diligently at spending less time entertaining these distinctions. But for today, I think it is only fair to note a very important and glaring difference between “left and right” - and in so doing - consider how we may, finally, stop needing to indulge in what is tedious.

Finally someone is beginning to think about these irrelevant and extreme views, viz., liberal and conservative labeling.

We should go back to word Cicero used to represent a true picture of these excremes.Paraphrasing Cicero, No one is purely liberal or conservative. What we all should be is "Eclectic," addressing each issue on its merits, rather han putting ourselves into these false categories, only used to stir up controversy, when in reality these extremes do not exist
